Lindsey Ryland MSW, RSW
Lindsey is a Master’s-trained Social Worker with experience working with individuals, couples, and families. Lindsey is currently accepting new clients at Lupine Clinical. Counselling who are wanting to explore areas of their mental health, grief, relationship issues and trauma. Over the past four years Lindsey has counselled and supported individuals and families experiencing dementia as well as clients struggling with anxiety, depression, and their personal relationships. While working with clients, and their families with dementia Lindsey witnessed firsthand the impact of anticipatory, disenfranchised, and complicated grief on care partners and their loved ones. This experience sparked her interest in grief counseling and expanded she has expanded her focus and training to include various forms of grief, such as perinatal grief and child loss. Grief often entangles the past, present, and future, bringing forth painful emotions like guilt, fear, anxiety, loneliness, regret, and anger. Lindsey builds her therapeutic relationships with clients on a foundation of trust and confidentiality. She supports clients in developing self-awareness and acceptance, offering personalized interventions to help them navigate grief, manage emotional pain, envision the future, strengthen relationships, and cope with reminders of loss. Lindsey’s approach is client-centered, psycho-educational, and strengths-based. Her therapeutic techniques include mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), accelerated resolution therapy (ART), and prolonged grief disorder treatment (PGDT). Lindsey finds solace and inspiration in nature and cherishes opportunity to explore the great outdoors. Lindsey also enjoys sports, particularly basketball which she has played for most of her life.
